It’s Movember time!!

“The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.”

What is Movember you say?

Glad you asked!

The idea of Movember started in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, to bring back the Moustache for fun and a cause; Prostate Cancer. With the idea being new and not so developed no money was raised that first year, but that’s not where the conversations and hope ended. In 2004 432 Mo. Bros were able to raised to 55,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Australia. Amazing right? The Movember moustache has continued to grow year after year, expanding to Canada, the US, UK, New Zealand, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, the Netherlands and Finland. Last year’s Canadian campaign was the second largest in the world behind Australia, with 35,156 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas coming together to raise $7.8 million for Prostate Cancer Canada.

If you didn’t know, Prostate cancer starts in the cells of the prostate gland. The prostate is part of the male reproductive system. Its main function is to make part of the liquid (seminal fluid) that mixes with sperm from the testicles to make semen. Semen is ejaculated during sex.The prostate is about the size of a large walnut. It is located close to the rectum just below the bladder at the base of the penis. The prostate surrounds the urethra, the tube that carries urine and semen through the penis.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Canadian men. It usually grows slowly and can often be cured or managed successfully.

The funds that are being raised through Movember’s Canadian campaign goes directly to the Prostate Cancer Canada which helps them to fund vital research that will led to better screening tests and treatment options and to run support services for men surviving prostate cancer.

The success of this campaign can be thanked to all 67,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, that has joined, donated and helped raised money for the campaign since 2003.

Plan B?

what is that..
my whole life I’ve seen things as one option.
never two, you’re only given one life.
why make make a Plan B?
shouldn’t you live your life as you plan it?
i mean if the first path isn’t working shouldn’t you just push it through?
or say fuck it and not move on with it?
what if you DON’T have a second option planned?
does that automatically make you a failed creature?
isn’t the whole concept of “follow your dreams” be based on a single dream?
not 5.10.15 until you find it?
so why create a plan b?
push through what you want, feel and need.
seems to me that creating a plan B lacks of your own personal faith and capability.
and what you believe in.
Plan B is nothing but a “doubt plan” button.
just tell yourself this…
there are no shortcuts to any place worth going.
live the life you want, not what life wants to mold you into.

3 little words.

Lounged in bed.
music is playing.
thoughts are swimming.
days are passing.
emotions becomes blank.
negativity is nonexistent.
perhaps only sometimes.
fingers are typing.
memories are playing.
dreams are floating.
reality is sinking.
decisions comes in.
maturity kicks in.
choices being made.
not your favourite.
reality sets in.
cannot play twice.
only one life.
live it safely.
enjoy it mostly.
key is yours.
use it wisely.
there’s only one.

Childhood eats.

Childhood memories never dies, just like high school crushes. Today has been a lazy, productive Sunday. I woke up super late, first time in a few weeks. I’m blaming the weekend, booze and late nights. Of course waking up at 1pm in the afternoon meant FOOD !

Breakfast was clearly over by then, so i made a little something. Sauteed Zucchinis, Mushrooms, Onions, and Yellow Squatch in a creole seasoning. They are my favourite veggies! If you couldn’t tell by then; finished it off, with some pita bread. Boy was i satisfied. I think I’m a pretty decent cook. I took care of a few things wrote some blogs as you can see. I’ve been battling a stupid sore throat and sinus congestion, so not what i signed up for. Dinner time came around and we all went to eat at my favorite Chinese Buffet. I’ve been going there since i was a kid. Let’s just say “Fu Lam” has been a dinner family tradition for years now, pst decades!

I started off with some Veggie Lo Mein, onion rings, spring rolls, sauteed bean sprouts and potatoes. True, the veggie selection isn’t so much but i was able to work with it and get the case of itis. It didn’t take me too long to finish it ah. I went to the Stir Fry bar and made my own little recipe.

Bean Sprouts, Onions, Green Cabbage, Mushrooms peppers and Soy. It OWNED ! Just like i remember!

I called it a night after that. The decor of the restaurant is so breath-taking, i wished i would’ve took more pics, but i was only focused into getting in the car and back home to my bed. I did admired one of the aquariums there. I believe there is like 3 in them; Huge selections and different Koi fishes in there as well. It’s really pretty. If you’re ever in the area, do stop by you won’t regret it. The buffet is huge and many options.

Fu Lam Buffet, Wok & Grill

1600 Boul. Le Corbusier, Laval

On that note, i am off to reading world. I’ve got so many books in my library that i don’t even know what i want to read.. I do want to finish The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall. It’s so far one of my favourite but so confusing and mind-fucking..Yet SO GOOOOOOD !!

Hehe, speaking of that, I’m heading to bed, cuddling mode with Bozo and TRST .. ox

Tasty Blondes.

Friday night, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!

It was time for debauchery and non-stop giggles.I’m finally adapting back to my beautiful city  “Montreal” and loving every moments of it. What’s a better way to do it, then with your girlfriends, dinner, shots and beer? Lol, sounds like the perfect solution to me!

I met Audrey downtown on rue St-Denis, where she works at, and managed to get lost in the process, ahah..such a tourist move. all i needed was my fanny pack and city map Lol.

After some hugs and giggles, we decided to eat at this Restaurant across the street named ” Les 3 Brasseurs”. The waiting wasn’t too bad, and the place packed out in seconds after we arrived..there was people waiting all the way out the door…Crazy!

The atmosphere of this place is so awesome! They brew their own beers and give you the choice of Imported ones. We ordered a pitcher of “La Blonde” house-made ! Absolutely good! Crispy light and tasty, I’m so going back for some more..

The menu was nice but more on a carnivore side.hehe, i think you know what i mean by that. So after some brews in my system i decided to go with the Veggie Calzone. it was HUGE and what looked to be made inside a brick oven.

It did the deed my friend. Of course i didn’t finish it all, thanks to Juliana she helped me chow this thing down hehe. I did kill the pitcher though Lol. Everyone knows i love beer! I never knew Blondes tasted so good until then LOL ..What a lame joke, but still had to share it ahah.

Oh before i wrap up about this place, there was something cool i saw right by the toilet, it’s a  Breath Alcohol Test for 2 bucks !! The limit is 2.0 and it tells your alcohol level is and all.. If only every places had that! imagine how easy driving at night without pissing off a cop would be! Great job Canada!

Rainy Afternoon calls for Grocery time.

What started off as a clear skies, led on to a rainy afternoon. What’s better than doing groceries, eh? Well, that’s what my Friday afternoon started off as!

My aunt took me to this place called “Sami Fruits” to start on a few things i needed to get. OMG!  I’ve adopted that place, the second i stepped in. It was nothing but mountains of fruits and vegetables piled up, sections deep all the way down. I called it, “Veggie Heaven” no jokes. I honestly didn’t know where to start, everything is fresh and clean. The workers are nice and ready to help you for anything you need and looking for. I managed to snap a quick shot of it, i wanted to take more, but i was too busy picking out what i wanted.

The prices are ridiculously low and affordable, so many veggies, fruits, nuts and spices to choose from, there’s not one thing you can’t find. Luckily for me, it is located walking distance to my grandmother’s house ! You know to find me there anytime I’m around. A little bit down from the store, there’s this guy that sells On-Site Smoothies and fruits ! There were so many different varieties and smoothies to choose from, but i decided to stick to one of my personal favourite: “Strawberry & Banana” and made it my lunch. It was absolutely delicious; thick and rich in flavour. You can taste the freshness as you sip it down. It was a total #WIN for me !!

After the groceries, i went and paid my lovely grandma a visit and decided to share my OJ with a purdy tree hehe, who says they can’t drink too?

After being a good Samaritan to the purdy tree with some OJ in my system, I head back home and got ready to taste the nightlife with my Gals, Audrey & Juliana <3
