Mighty Mighty Scramble!

I woke up this morning with a song a friend sent me “The One” by Twin Shadow and the urge to scramble!

Not everyone  has the power to wake up with a beautiful smile in the morning, I never take mines for granted. Be happy in all that you do. On that note I ran downstairs went in the fridge and picked up my ingredients!

-Seitan Strips

-4 Mushrooms

-Half an Onion

-Half a block of Extra Firm Tofu

The Mighty Mighty Scramble.

In a separate bowl I seasoned the Seitan strips with hoisin and sriracha sauce and added ground pepper. I let it sit for 5 minutes, while the tofu is sizzling in the pan. I usually cook with Earth Balance but I sometimes use Olive oil. After the 5 minutes I mixed in the Seitan strips and Tofu and let it fry together. I added seasoned salt, ground pepper and herb’s seasoning while it cooked. After letting it get a little colour, I added the sliced mushrooms and onions and let it sauteed.

More Sriracha on the top and Voila!

What I like about Tofu, Seitan and Tempeh is that you are free to do anything with it. You can season it any ways you desire. Let it be your blank canvas!

Enjoy!

Vegan Bake Sale Recap!

One word. FANTASTIC!

What am I speaking of, you ask? Easy, this year’s Vegan Bake Sale in Atlanta!

It was an amazing turn out! It was my first year attending an all vegan sale and let me tell you, I indulged!

I started the day with a flower shaped rice krispies treat.

Flower Power!

The weather was great, the ambiance was great, the ladies were great! In all honesty i don’t know what else to say but everything was great, so this is what I’ll do, i’m going to post all of the pictures I have and enjoy them! I can cook pretty well, but when it comes to baking, I have absolutely no patience! I am part of the ones who cooks with a naked eye, and tries different flavours as I go. Being precise isn’t really my forte, hehe.

If you did go to the Bake Sale, I’d like to hear your story, and did you enjoy it as much as I did?

Before I leave you with this, I wanted to say that thanks to all of us who supported the sale, and had a cookie, or two. The sale brought home a major 731$ in sale! WOOT WOOT!!! All of the proceeds will be going to our very first “Atlanta Veg Fest“! How exciting is this? Very, if i may add!! The First Annual Atlanta Veg Fest will take place in November, as I was told. Make sure to tune in, as I will be sharing any pieces of information I get !

They even had Vegan dog treats :]

My dear friend Xavier supporting and indulging on a piece of cake!

Cookie Sandwich!

The ladies at work!

King of Pops stopped by the festival! Raspberry- Lemonade for moi!

Inman Park Festival!

Picked up this puppy from a street artist at the festival! Handmade Boba Fett magnet, WIN!

Cookies and Coffee the next morning! Yes, Please!

The bake sale was on the same day as the Inman Park Festival, I did attend it and had a great time with my peers. The sun was hot and beautiful. I had my friends Loren  [Take a minute to check out her blog, http://junkeatjunk.wordpress.com/]  and Xavier with me for the weekend! It was more than I expected, we walked down to Little Five Points, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. Laughters, tired feets, sunburns you name it all. Amazing day, it was. Sugar coma was the plan, and a sugar coma alright happened. No jokes! Let’s just say I didn’t have the best choice of breakfast that morning, I blame the excitement. It all led to a little dizzy spell but thankfully, I wasn’t alone. I guess that’s what I get for eating waffle fries and a RedBull for breakfast… I know, horrible!

Anyways, enough about my bad choices, the sale was grand, the festival was joyful, and friendly, Atlanta I love you, see you again next year!

Welcome Back?

W E L L  !

As some of you may know, i have been M-I-A for the past …. 2 months (insertsadface) !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reasons? Good question, I’ve been too busy & selfish living and eating oh and vacationing ! I do apologize for it all, I’ve been getting views off the roof and i feel so bad because there’s nothing to view but old post, BAH ! Enough with the crying eh? I was back home in Atlanta for a month and I took so many pictures and all, maybe one day i’ll organize a slide show eh?

The plan was to make a post everyday or so, about my outings and all, but the fact that i left my laptop back in canada, because i didn’t feel like carrying my laptop case ( lazy much?) around is basically the reason why i have been slacking… I told myself, well there’s 5 computers back home i don’t need to bring my lappy..but ya, that was a total fail (anothersadface)

Well, it is now 8:38pm Minus The Bear are singing in my ear & I am FULL!

Here comes the GOODIES !!

After a long day at work, my friend and I decided to grab dinner #teeheeee

Of course being  a #Vegan in a Carnivore’s world is a total adventure to me, so i picked out the place “Commensal” and she was really open minded about trying out some vegetarian food for the night :) Isn’t she awesome?!?!

Yes, ladies &  Gents! This was my plate !! Why so much.. Well to start off, all i had in my stomach was some chips x orange juice x coffee since 10am .. Can you taste the stress off my mouth?? So of course i went I-N on this Vegan Buffet !! The way Commensal works is by the pound, meaning you fill your plate with whatever you want, it is then weighted and by then you are told how much you owe! Luckily for me, it was a whopping $18.80 ! and truthfully that is nothing for everything i had ! Hey, it pays to eat organic- healthy and finger lickin’ good !

Moving on, if i remember what my plate consisted of, it was as followed..

Garlic seared noddles x Zucchini, Baby Button Mushroom and Peppers x Beets Salad, Red Beans, Corn, Scallions, Green Cut Pepper x Spring Rolls [ Rice Vermicelli, Shredded Carrots & Veggies] x Chinese Seitan Stir Fry x Baby Sprouts x Avocado x Lac St-Jean Pate [Veganize Canadian Dish] … NOW of course, everything had it’s own sauce, spices and blahblah, but i honestly can’t remember what everything was. I do know that everything was well seasoned and freaking AMAZING !!

Of course it’s not a M E A L without a legit dessert eh?  I am not big on sweets, but when i like something, i DO !

What we have there are Fresh Cut Pineapples x Strawberries & AN AMAZING SLICE OF #VEGAN CARROT CAKE ! Yes i know it’s all in CAPS, i am not illiterate. I just want you guys to understand how amazingly heaven this piece of carrot cake was in my mouth <3

Moist x Silky x Flavourful & Refreshing. All for a bagnin’ $5.83

So overall, The Commensal is def one of my favourites! Hence it is my second time going thus far, and i am proudly the Mayor of the location on Foursquare ^^

For a grand total of $24.67 … i am proud to say it was all worth it !! I can be a cheap date, but there is nothing like treating yourself after a long day of work eh, plus i wasn’t the one cooking this time #win

You can find a Commensal easy ! Luckily for me there is one right behind my grand mother’s house, aren’t i lucky?

The Commensal is a Vegan & Vegetarian establishment, everything is noted by legends and provides an ingredients list.

Oh and you can bring your own wine ! How awesome eh?

I hope you guys enjoyed my mouth watering “Welcome Back” post. I promise to get back on track !! [Pinky Promise]

Ps. Happy Earth Day <3
