Let’s Have A Bun!

Greetings Earthlings!

I know we all at some point want to enjoy Oriental food, from ramen noodles to authentic Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese food. Somedays we just want to try something different than what our taste buds is familiar to! I personally enjoy Asian food a lot. I can’t eat Asian food without Sriracha sauce, Sriracha has become a permanent item in my pantry! I used to not be able to withstand spicy meals, now I haunt for a bottle everywhere I go.

Once you go Sriracha, there’s no turning back!

While in Buckhead a few weeks ago, my twin sister took me to a Vietnamese place called Pho Dai Loi, located on Buford Hwy. The only Vegetarian option it offered was the Vegetarian Bun, simple and flavourful.

Vegetarian Bun- Rice Vermicelli, Shredded Carrots, Fried Onions, Chives,Cucumbers and Crushed Peanuts.

I will say this, the more Sriracha sauce the better. I enjoyed it, minus the mint bed sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I am not crazy of mint. It was a light lunch and filling dish. You want to know the best part about it? It was just about 5 bucks! Now, whoever said eating Vegan was expensive lied to you! I mean come on, it’s just a bunch of vegetables! *winks* If you’re ever in town and feeling for a bun, look no more. Pho Dai Loi has got you covered!

Messy bun. The bottom of the bowl was filled with shredded mint. I wasn’t too crazy about it. I adjusted the taste by pouring on more Sriracha.

Hop On Aboard !

Why, Hello!

It has been a while since we have last spoken. I hope the New Year has been taking good care of you as it’s been for me.

Here is a little recap of things…

I moved back home to Atlanta, Georgia. Montreal was a great experience, I met a lot of great people, made some travels in between, experienced Montreal like a tourist before making it my home to stay. I went to some of the festivals it had to offer, i ate some great vegan food all around, and challenged myself on living in the city. I learned a lot about myself, and discovered that there is a lot more to life than the simple routine we set ourselves in every day. I can happily say that I am a better and stronger person today. Leaving home a year and a half ago was honestly… Bold. Was i scared? No, because i was ready to embark in a new journey. But because we are humans, a little fear was indeed in play. Until this day, I don’t have a concrete reason as to why i have left, but i will tell you this now, i don’t regret it one bit! I love my country. Canada is a beautiful place but with where I am in life right now, home with my family is where my heart lies. I am very happy to be back to Georgia, It’s been about a month and a week now, and i couldn’t be any happier!

I ate a lot of food in Montreal, some i was able to share with you in this blog, which was the reason why i started it. I wanted to keep myself busy for a little while. After enrolling and being accepted to school, the time i had in my hands became a little scarce, and the site sort of went downhill.

I want to thank all of  you that stayed and clicked around. For a little side project i started a year ago, i was suprised to attain over 1800 views, as of today.

Now that i am back, there is a lot of things i want to do differently with this blog. Yes, I will continue to post about my eats and this time from Atlanta, and share some of the recipes that i have and made. The Traveling Pink Lips is back and i plan on making it a full movement!

From eats to informations, events, environmental issues, DIY, books & product reviews and last but not least a little bit of my nerdy side will too part take of this site.

I am excited, and i hope that you are too.

I welcome all of you Vegans/ Vegetarians & Non/ Vegans/ Vegetarians , & even more the Curious along this ship.

I am ready to sail this puppy to a new land!

I hope you can find some things that will relate and help you. I am open to any questions, help and concerns you may have and what you’d like to see!

Veganism is not an overnight process. I am a few years in and i continue to learn something new everyday.

I WANT to prove to you of how tasty, and easy it is. I am going to share some of the things i love and know about Veganism.

Perhaps, I can challenge you to take a step IN. Dare?!

Welcome Aboard!

SAMMWICH with the Green Panther!

Do you like sandwiches as much as i do ??

If your answer is YES, then i have the perfect place for you,  La Panthere Verte.

La Panthere Verte is 100% Vegan & Organic. Guaranteed to satisfy you, and to leave you begging for more.

The winning factor to this may just be the fact that it is located right in front of my Philosophy building. Can we say spoiled?

Once again, i became the Mayor of the place, but did end up getting the boot by someone else. ONLY due to the fact that i was on an out of country vacation and of course, there are no teleportation machines available to us just yet. I couldn’t be in two places at the same time… I know, i know i am sounding pretty nerdy right now but what can you do? Aha.

Everything is fresh, and made to order. They have the best Falafel Sandwich in town. It was the first thing i tried, and let me tell you, they weren’t lying.

Before i forget, when i say ” Sandwich” i mean a warm whole wheat pita bun filled with tahini sauce, sprouts, carrots and pickles.

Menu board & cozy setting.

They offer 4 different types of sandwiches.  The Falafel Sandwich, Tempeh Sandwich, BBQ Tofu Steak and a yummy Veggie Burger. You have the choice to accompany  your bun with a salad mix or the Soup of the Day. Can it get any better than this? I didn’t think so! The average price is 7 Canadian Loonies for one of these healthy buns, plus a happy stomach!

Ready to order the famous Falafel??

They also offer a list of smoothies, juices, organic beer on tap and bottles, and Kombucha, Energy deserts balls, Booster Shots [ Wheat grass, Maca, E3-Live]  and cookies.

This place is beyond friendly. The idea of a perfect meal, great way to meet other students, and of course Vegans. Dine in or On-The-Go, La Panthere Verte has everything you need.

I am leaving you with a picture of my beautiful plate. It consists of 3 different salads, a Quinoa Salad with a Tahini Sauce, Sweet Potatoes, Mushrooms, White Beans, Broccoli, and a Spring Mix alongside with my  Tempeh sandwich.

Tempeh Sandwich & Salad mix!

They offer two different locations in Montreal, and delivers ! So hurry up and get your SAMMWICH on pals !

You can thank me later <3
